Walk, Run, Have Fun!

When I was about two years old I was diagnosed with leukemia. It was hard for me, but the Valerie Fund made things a lot easier. Everyone there was so compassionate towards helping my family and I get through this difficult experience. Although I was young, I still recall playing games and making crafts when I would go in for treatments. Fifteen years later from being diagnosed, I look back and appreciate The Valerie Fund for everything they have done for me. I thank and deeply appreciate everyone donating or signing up on my team for the walk or run!

We are walking to celebrate Alexa being over 10 years cancer-free! During all these years, the Valerie Fund has remained an important part of Alexa’s life. They continue to provide yearly comprehensive monitoring and amazing educational support. She has become part of the late effects program whereby they will monitor her progress and concerns indefinitely. It is comforting to know that they will always be there for us to continue to navigate her future.
