The Valerie Fund Marks 50 Years of Hope and Healing

The Valerie Fund is marking 50 years of hope, healing, and comprehensive care for children with cancer and blood disorders. Before Sue and Ed Goldstein founded The Valerie Fund, pediatric cancer patients living in New Jersey had to travel to New York City or Philadelphia for treatment.
Half a century ago. The Valerie Fund was born out of grief, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to do better for children battling cancer and blood disorders. For five decades, The Valerie Fund has been a beacon of hope and healing. Our Children’s Centers go beyond medical care by providing essential psychosocial services that help ease the burden for patients and families.
As we honor this half-century of impact, our hearts are with every Valerie Fund child—past and present. You are the reason we are here. You are the heart of this mission. To all our patients, families, supporters, and staff—thank you for being part of this extraordinary journey. Let us look back with pride and forward with purpose, as we continue to bring healing, comfort, and hope to those who need it most.
Our goal is to recognize a half-century of hope and healing by honoring our extraordinary patients and patient family/caregiver communities.
