Join us for the 20th Anniversary Valerie Fund Walk! The Valerie Fund has been a part of our lives since Katelyn was first diagnosed with hepatoblastoma at just 20 months old. From the very beginning, the doctors and nurses guided us through what chemotherapy would look like, patiently answering every question and giving us all the time we needed to process the overwhelming reality of Katelyn's diagnosis. When we were told the complexity of her tumor, it was The Valerie Fund that helped us find the right surgeon at CHOP. Throughout treatment, we felt completely supported, surrounded by a team that not only cared for Katelyn, but also for us as parents navigating the unimaginable.

Now, more than 10 years after completing treatment, Katelyn still walks into clinic and is welcomed like family. Every doctor, nurse and child life specialist remembers her, asks how she's doing, and celebrates how far she has come. And every summer, she gets to spend her favorite week of the year at Camp Happy Times, where she's surrounded by friends who understand what it means to be a survivor. It's a place where she can talk openly about her cancer history and the ways it still impacts her today, all while having the time of her life.
