I was diagnosed withSevere Aplastic Anemia (bone marrow failure) in May 2025. I could not return to school as I was immunocompromised and transfusion dependent. I spent May- mid July in and out of the Valerie Center and Goryeb Children's hospital. My sisters were tested and my oldest sister, Francesca, was a match. I was transferred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) where I underwent Chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. I spent most of my Junior year on home instruction but I was happy to return to school April 6th, for the first time in 11 months. They say dealing with Aplastic Anemia and bone marrow transplant is a marathon, not a race. Thank you for your support!
