All-Star Hockey Game at American Dream to Benefit The Valerie Fund
Local teenager hosts Kids Ice Cancer event to help support pediatric cancer care in NJ.
East Rutherford, NJ: Kids Ice Cancer and The Valerie Fund are teaming up to score a goal against pediatric cancer in New Jersey. When sophomore Andrew Low lost three family members to cancer in 2016 he decided that he needed to play his position on the team fighting back against cancer. Andrew founded Kids Ice Cancer to work with kids to raise money in the fight against pediatric cancer. This year, Kids Ice Cancer is working with The Valerie Fund to support their seven Valerie Fund Children's Centers around New Jersey, New York City, and metro Philadelphia.
"I founded Kids Ice Cancer for the purpose of enabling kids to help other kids who are fighting cancer. We believe that kids want to give back to their community but often don't know how or where to start. We make it easy by engaging hockey players to come to play a game they love while raising money for pediatric cancer. This year our all-star hockey game fundraising will be to support The Valerie Fund, a local charity that supports children with cancer and blood disorders since 1976." - Andrew Low, founder of Kids Ice Cancer
This year's Kids Ice Cancer ice hockey game will be held on Friday, March 27th at 7:00 pm. The game will be played on The Rink at American Dream, a new 3 million square foot entertainment and retail destination located at 1 American Dream Way in East Rutherford, NJ. The game will be free to view for guests at American Dream.
"We're thrilled to host this year's Kids Ice Cancer ice hockey game at American Dream," said Don Ghermezian, Co-CEO at American Dream. "Giving back to the local community is part of our DNA and once we heard about Kids Ice Cancer's mission, we had to be involved with this amazing organization."
