Donate $1 at your local Burger King to support The Valerie Fund
Over 100 Burger King restaurants support kids with cancer and blood disorders.
Once again this year, Burger King franchise owners in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut are supporting The Valerie Fund with a coupon campaign. This partnership has been in place for more than 10 years and has raised over $1M in that time.
From April 15- May 31, 2023, at the point-of-sale, BK Guests can support The Valerie Fund by donating one dollar and they will receive a coupon book that includes popular Burger King menu items for free. A list of participating Burger King franchises may be found at https://thevaleriefund.org/burger-king/
Bunny Flanders, Director of Communications at the Valerie Fund says, “We have such a wonderful partnership with Burger King franchise owners. This long-standing relationship has been so important to the ongoing support of our Valerie Fund kids and their families. Recently, we were able to open our eighth Valerie Fund Center in Stony Brook, Long Island to support an additional 500+ patients in the community.”
Chris Johnson, Burger King franchise owner and Valerie Fund board member says, “Rackson Restaurants has been a long-term supporter of The Valerie Fund. The support they are able to give to over 6,000 children with cancer and blood disorders each year is vital. The psychosocial services they provide to kids and their families helps to ease the burden of illness and treatment. They deserve all the support we can offer.”
ABOUT THE VALERIE FUND: After their nine-year-old daughter Valerie succumbed to cancer in 1976, Sue and Ed Goldstein were determined that no family should have to travel great distances to receive superior medical care. Along with a group of close friends, they began fundraising efforts from their living room---tireless work that would lead to the 1977 opening of New Jersey’s first pediatric oncology facility at Summit’s Overlook Hospital. Forty-five years later, The Valerie Fund’s mission remains that of supporting comprehensive health care for children battling cancer and blood disorders.
