34th Summer of Camp Happy Times
In August, campers spent an amazing week of fun and friendship as the 34th summer of Camp Happy Times was held on the beautiful campus of Tyler Hill Camp in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. To coincide with the Olympics in Brazil, Camp Happy Times held its own Wild and Wacky Olympics. Over 150 campers and their counselors declared this, "The best week ever!" as the whole camp navigated an obstacle course and participated in daily games of tug-of-war, Simon Says, and Zorbing, rolling downhill inside a plastic orb. Campers and counselors were assigned to five different teams: Purple Penguins, Red Raptors, Green Gators, Blue Bears and Orange Orangutans. An exciting closing ceremony was held to honor all our own Olympic winners. A special thank you goes out to our friends at Morgan Stanley who came to visit and support our kids on the last day of the Olympics. The schedule for the week also included our daily camp activities like swimming, boating, fishing, arts & crafts, wall climbing, and tennis. Special events included our traditional evening campfires, our dance, the crowd-pleasing annual talent show and this year, a special celebration of our volunteer director's 80th birthday.
Camp Happy Times is truly a family as campers and counselors live together for the week, sharing laughs, smiles, stories and hugs. The children cultivate life-long friendships and are incredibly thankful for experiencing the gift of Camp Happy Times every single summer.
Please join us in supporting all the kids next year as Camp Happy Times celebrates its 35th birthday in late August 2017!
